STOP PRESS
Our Claremont H.Q. is now closed to visitors pending the relocation of the YAHS to a new headquarters facility. There will be a part time office service based at Claremont in the interim period (see the Visiting Us link).

The Claremont Library materials are now located at the University of Leeds Brotherton Library, some of the more popular items are relocated at the Leeds City Central Library.

The YAHS's Archived Collections at Claremont are now located at the University of Leeds Library's Special Collections (in the Brotherton Library).

The materials are now accessible.
A list (not an index) of YAHS archives now in the University Library's Special Collections can be searched online (which was not the case when it was in Claremont). See https://library.leeds.ac.uk/special-collections-yorkshire-archaeological-and-historical-society
The YAHS library collection, which hasn't yet been fully accessioned, will be found on the Brotherton Library catalogue:

The Section is actively looking at circulating the Yorkshire Family Historian in electronic format to those members willing to co-operate in this modern method of distribution.  Additionally we are exploring the process of placing the Historian in a Members Only section of this website.

The Yorkshire Roots website is being upgraded, this is work in progress at this time.
