The Journal
The Section's Journal is The Yorkshire Family Historian, published three times yearly in Autumn, Winter and Spring and is issued free to members. It contains a range of articles of genealogical interest and social history in addition to news about forthcoming events, new members and membership matters in general. In each issue there is also a section focusing on members' interests.
Members may have their requests for help published in the Journal.
We are always seeking articles for the Journal and the Editor welcomes articles for publication from members and non-members.
The Section is actively looking at widening the circulation of the Journal in electronic format to those members willing to co-operate in this modern method of distribution. Additionally we are exploring the practicalities of placing the Journals in a Members Only section of this website.
Exchange Journals
The Family History Section exchanges its publication, The Yorkshire Family Historian, with other similar Societies in the UK and overseas. A list of these Societies is available here (as a pdf file). Please note that many societies now only circulate electronic versions of their exchange magazines (mainly in pdf format).

Name Index To The Yorkshire Family Historian - Feb 1996 to June 2008
There is an index to the YFH listing the names of people, places, occupations and articles mentioned in the magazine. The list is alphabetical and gives the issue and page number of the journal.
